Because we loved our Al Rabi Hike experience, we immediately started looking for our next hiking adventure. Of course, one obvious choice would be the Jebel Jais mountains which is where the highest point of UAE is. It is quite intimidating when you browse some Jebel Jais hiking photos on the internet, but we stumbled upon one video of a family with small kids who hiked the Jebel Jais Upper Segment Hiking Trail. This trail’s starting point is in the Jebel Jais Viewing Deck Park that made it a perfect place to visit. You could already soak in the stunning Jebel Jais mountain views at the viewing park without exerting any sweat. It has seven viewing decks with twelve binoculars. It also got a play area and food zone. But climbing the mountains would be more rewarding, so we started hiking up after we had our lunch.

The trail is for moderate hikers and it has two summits, one at 1400m and the next at 4000m. Aside from the fact that Gab didn’t sleep well the night before because of his excitement, the hike was indeed challenging for him so he stopped after around a 500m walk. Neil and I are eager to reach the 1400m summit so we alternately went up while Gab is busy playing in nature’s playground.

It was an exhausting but indeed a fun day for us in the mountains.
