I'm Your Puppet - James & Bobby Purify - Sept. 1966 HQ

James Lee Purify and his cousin Robert Lee Dickey formed the duo, "James and Bobby Purify", in 1965. This combination scored two major hits, "I'm Your Puppet" and "Shake A Tail Feather" in the mid 1960s. In the early 1970s, vocalist Ben Moore of "Ben and Spence" replaced Dickey when he suffered health problems and the duo continued. The duo continued into the 1980s, with no other big hits, but remained popular on the tour circuit. When Purify faced legal problems, Moore went solo, though still using the name "Bobby Purify" occasionally.
