This pond has definitely seen better days! Today's plan is to reclaim as much dirt as we can while making improvements to the property. We're going to drain and remove this old pond, then use the material from the dam to build several dry dams up on top of the hill.

One of the biggest challenges on this job is saving every bit of topsoil we can. That means carefully stripping it off, stockpiling it, and making sure it goes back where it belongs when we're finished. It's a balancing act between moving a lot of dirt and preserving the good soil.
