Pin drop silence in Thailand's Metro - Public transport of Bangkok

I don't use much public transports when I am in my hometown but when I am in other cities, i try to use public transports. I was surprised to see people in Thailand who were very cultured and calm.
In my school days my teacher used to tell us that they expect pin drop silence from us, this place got me thinking the same.
