Cannondale Factory Racing at Cape Epic 2019

Cape Epic is the hardest mountain bike stage race in the world. 8 days, 630 km and 16650m of climbing through the nicest but also roughest terrain in the western cape.
Cannondale Factory Racing came to the race in 2019 to win the overall, after a 5th, 4th and 3rd place in the years past. We had to change our strategy if we wanted to deliver on that. In a race like the Epic everything can happen, but we stuck to the strategy and remained in contention for the win.
Ultimately we had to settle for 2nd place, our highest finish in the race. 2 days in yellow, 1 stage win, and 5 stages on the podium proved our strategy, if just shy of the main goal.
Our brains are already wrapped around the 2020 edition, to fullfill the team’s dream to stand on the top step of the podium in Val de Vie on March 22 in 2020. Thank you for supporting Manuel Fumic and Henrique Avancini every step of the way!
