In How to Make a Copenhagen Solar Cooker - DIY Solar Cooker, FREE Solar Cooker, Free Solar Cooking, Sharon, one of the Two Tired Teachers, demonstrates step by step making a Copenhagen Solar Cooker.
You will need two standard sized poster boards that will be the solar shields. You also need an 8 x 8 piece of cardboard.
Additionally, you need something to measure with, something to write with (preferably a Sharpie or Marks-a-lot), either a box cutter or scissors, glue or a glue stick, heavy duty aluminum foil or mylar, a craft stick, some packing tape, 8 small nails, an ice pick, an athletic shoe lace or sting, and clothes pins to hold it all together.
Sharon, one of the Two Tired Teachers, cut the poster board to 14 x 14, and glued the mylar to each of the four pieces. She used the packing tape to tape down the edges so they were reinforced.
Although it isn't required, Sharon did measure before she put nails in the 8 x 8 piece of cardboard. She labled the pieces so that she could quickly assemble it.
She goes through the cardboard first and then through the panel, made of poster board.
Commercially made Copenhagen Solar Cookers are the most affordable of the solar cookers. They cost around $45.
Since this is solar cooking for free, Sharon wanted to make the Copenhagen Solar Cooker with things she had around her house. She was able to make a free solar cooker. Solar cooking for free is always less expensive than solar cooking that cost money.
This DIY Solar Cooker is relatively easy. Hopefully you enjoyed this RV how to.
