A Cry from the Heart, a Window, and Easter

Zinaïda Hryhorivna Lukianenko, sister of legendary Ukrainian politician and activist Levko Lukianenko who became the author of the Declaration of Independence of Ukraine, lives in a small flat in the centre of Sedniv. Zinaïda Hryhorivna’s favourite entertainment is to embroider traditional Ukrainian towels while sitting near the window.

Former librarian Taïsia Tymofiïvna Mutsu writes poems. From time to time, she sends them to a local newspaper but the editors do not publish them. “The poems are not perfect enough,” they say.

Father Timon serves in the wooden St. George’s Church. This is the church where the famous eerie scene from the Soviet film „Viy“ was filmed.

This film is about people with big and warm hearts. Also, it is about small, but incredibly sincere deeds.
