The year 1991 brought us a lot of great things, in the world of music, Nirvana released there iconic Neverminded record, in television Home Improvement first hit the airwaves, and in film we were first introduced to the likes of Terminator 2 and Boyz n the Hood. Meanwhile in the WWF, 1991 was the year that saw the promotion retreat into old habits of the late 80’s, relying on older more established stars and outdated storylines. But for all the controversy the latter of these would cause, that wasn’t to say there weren’t changes made during the second year of the 90’s. No, its here that we saw the first sparks of what the company would become, with an increased focus on higher numbers of big shows and regular title changes, as well as the rise of the man who would carry the New Generation only a few years later in Bret Hart.
