PLANTING NEW SHRUB BORDER

Finally planting some shrubs in my new border. Join me this week as I dig up a very ugly Forsythia bush and plant my Corkscrew Hazel. And I end with a quick tour of where I planted the shrubs and how the new border is beginning to take shape. There are still lots of gaps, but at least it is underway and of course there will be more shrubs planted there in the future. But I am excited to see how these ones fare. Between the planting of the shrubs and the mini tour one week passes and although it is still quite cold the plants feel spring and are already leafing out. I also show the first plantings in what will be a dry garden. My efforts this growing season are the shrub border and the hidden patio, but I also need to try out plant combinations for next year (always thinking ahead). I hope you enjoy the video and I will be giving updates on how these shrubs are adapting to my mountain climate.
