US Army 1911 Qualifiation - 1988 Edition

This video is a demonstration of how to shoot the U.S. Army Pistol Qualification Course for the 1911. It doesn’t have to be a service weapon, this can be attempted with any model 1911 or really any pistol at all. My previous video was based on a 1940 cavalry Field Manual but I was able to obtain a newer version published in 1988.

You will need at least 40 rounds of ammo, a Type E target at 25 meters. There are time limits for some shots so if you really want to go hard core, a second person with a stop watch to act as a grader would be handy. If you had assistance from a partner you could shoot the course in less than 30 minutes.

I am not a qualified gunsmith or expert marksman I’m simply sharing my experiences and interpretation of this field manual.
