Arizona’s Wildest Route 66 Drive Ends at the Colorado River

Along the way, we explore the history behind Route 66, the mining boom that once brought life to these remote mountains, and the small towns that somehow survived after the interstate bypassed the Mother Road.

From wandering burros in Oatman to the wide-open Mojave Desert near Golden Shores and the historic river crossing at Topock, this journey captures the feeling of classic American road travel and the fading spirit of old Route 66.
