Rifling machine

1860s Pratt & Whitney "Grasshopper" barrel rifling machine. Displayed at the 2018 Coolspring Power Museum expo. Great example of early Industrial Revolution manufacturing technology. It utilizes a sine bar to set the rate of twist and elliptical gears to create a dwell for the barrel to index between broaching passes.
