Men’s Mental Health Matters – My Experience with Panic Attacks & Anxiety

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, so let’s talk honestly about anxiety and panic attacks.

They’re scary. I’ve had some really terrifying ones. And while I wouldn’t say I’ve “overcome” them, I’ve learned to recognize my triggers, how to work through them when they hit, and—maybe most importantly—how to ask for help.

Sometimes panic shows up because I’m avoiding something I need to face. Sometimes it just… shows up. Either way, I’ve learned not to ignore it. I talk to my therapist. I process. I keep going.

If you’ve experienced anxiety or panic attacks, hear this:

There’s nothing wrong with you.
There’s nothing broken.
You’re not weak.
You’re human.

You’re allowed to feel what you feel.
You’re allowed to ask for help.
You’re allowed to not be okay.

Let’s keep normalizing these conversations—especially for men.
