‘Watch out Premier Andrews, even the titanic got sunk’: Peta Credlin

Sky News host Peta Credlin says she has not seen any evidence the Coate Inquiry is after the truth of how “800 of our own died at the hands of a botched government”.

The Coate Inquiry held an extraordinary session at 2pm on Tuesday in which it discussed the secret emails from Brett Sutton which were omitted from evidence by the DHHS.

The two email chains were not submitted by the Department of Health and Human Services pertaining to the “chain of command” of hotel quarantine, and when Victorian Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton was made aware private security.

Professor Sutton has been asked to submit an affidavit as the hotel quarantine inquiry seeks an explanation as to why the key emails weren't tendered during an extraordinary session on Tuesday.

Ms Credlin said the Coate Inquiry asking for further information under affidavit is “just the passing of more paper,” when it needs to put witnesses in the box, and push and probe “their version of the truth”.

“What we have here – at the heart of it all – are dozens of public servants and senior politicians too – who have apparently engaged in the calculated misleading of an inquiry,” she said.

“I'd say to this Victoria's seemingly all powerful Premier, watch out, even the Titanic got sunk.”
