Things to do on MAUI, HAWAII even when it rains 🤷‍♀️ (travel vlog)

Imagine you arrive in Maui, Hawaii... and it rains! 😭 Most things to do on Maui involve nature, so you should better find a way to have some fun despite the rain. Our plan was to enjoy the famous Ka'anapali beach at the resort area, which is considered one of the best beaches on Maui. But the visit only lasted a few minutes... Instead, we went sightseeing along West Maui and drove to viewpoints where we saw Honolua-Mokule'ia Bay, Nakalele Blowhole, and even enjoyed a little bit of D.T. Fleming Beach Park. We also visited Lahaina, Hawaii's first capital, where we had a delicious mahi mahi at Paia Fish Market followed by shave ice on Front Street. And the icing on the cake? We saw humpback whales! From December to May you might see whales in Maui (and Hawaii in general), as this is where they give birth. Despite the initial setback, the day was memorable 😉😍

Maui is the second-largest of the Hawaiian Islands (only behind Hawaii island) and is the 17th largest island in the United States. The vibe is totally different compared to Oahu: much quieter and more relaxed. Actually, they have a tiny fraction of the population of Oahu occupying a bigger area.

We stayed in Kihei, which is located in South Maui. This video covers the West Coast. In the next few videos, you'll see more of the south, as well as the north and the east sides.

► WHO AM I?

I am a Brazilian journalist living in the United States. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and he's actually camera-shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time 😉
