5 SIMPLE SKIN CARE HACKS- To Increase Product Power
After my laser procedures I guide patients how to maximize their gains with active skin care, hence these educational videos. Skin is as unique as you are- so there is not standard active skin care range or skin care routine that I endorse nor prescribe. My laser team will discuss with you what and when to start skin care actives.
If you are after an anti-ageing skin care program I normally would perform either Fractional Co2 and Fraxel or an erbium modulated CO2 laser, followed by the ABCs of skin care. Timing is extremely important to reduce skin irritation following laser procedures. I normally start off with a retinoid, such as Retinol 1.0 then graduate to prescription retinoid acid, before adding B and C products. SPF of choice is a physical sunscreen to reduce irritation following a laser procedure.
If I am treating your for acne scarring, the use of Vitamin A and SPF is beneficial for both better outcomes and recovery- this includes treatments with RF, microneedling, fractional lasers and even TCA peels. There are small uncontrolled studies to suggest topical vitamin A can enhance scar revision- and besides, topical vitamin A can unclog pores, decrease oil production and reduce acne.
If I am treating melasma and other forms of pigmentation, this video is super important. This can teach you to maximize your HQ use, vitamin A and Meladerm, or Melarase usage. My laser of choice is usually the Pico or Nano Revlite- C6 or the Clear and Brilliant Fraxel laser.
For patients with rosacea and sensitive skin, this video is also useful, however you must slowly titrate the methods I have shown you. Your skin is extra sensitive and there is a fine line with Vitamin B and to a limited extent vitamin A and C. For acne prone skin, the use of AHAs combined with vitamin A creams, retinol, and retinoic acid can give a helping hand to reduce acne, zits, pimples, blackheads and whiteheads.
Thanks for watching this video on 5 skin care hacks to make your actives work harder for you. All videos are unsponsored and I tell it like it is. Subscribe and turn your notification on as I produce one new educational video every Saturday morning, Brisbane Australia time.
