An old client came back I'm not the same freelancer

Today I want to talk about something that started yesterday and happened again today. An old client came back, and I realized I am not the same freelancer who worked with him in the past. I worked with him for some months in 2024.

Back then, I was focused more on building pages with WordPress and Elementor, and building automations with n8n and other tools like ActiveCampaign and ManyChat. He had an agency that provided the service for experts who sell info products using digital launch campaigns.

He came back this week, and now I am a developer. At that time I was already coding things, but I was not focused on telling people I was a developer, because I didn't feel it. I didn't feel capable enough to even call myself a junior. I was still learning and had just begun software engineering college. Now I am a lot more capable. I work with AI, I build systems, automations, and integrations. I am not the same service provider as before.

Today I had a meeting with him and with Danilo, my business partner. We are starting to provide the service of integrating AI into businesses. It was a really good meeting: I covered the technical view since I already knew this client, and Danilo covered the business view. What made me sure it was a good meeting is that all the problems this client has, I have basically already solved, because I am having similar problems running our own operation with Danilo. UTM tracking, websites built on different hosts, WordPress, AI in the process. I have already solved all of these.

And because of that, I saw how far I came in these years. Before, I was selling infrastructure for digital marketing. Now I am not only selling that, but also the intelligence behind every decision, every integration, every plan, even the way I structure my folders working with Claude Code every day. That changed my price, and also the reach and the results I am able to provide. When you add the two of us together, it multiplies, because we have different personalities and experiences that complement each other.

The conclusion I have for today is that what made the difference is that I stayed in the game for all those years. I improved a lot, but I kept the same direction. It is the same client, but his business changed a lot, and I also changed a lot in the process. And yeah, it is a good feeling.
