Why NASA SUDDENLY ‘Stopped’ Exploring The Ocean & NEVER WENT BACK! #shorts

During the 1960s and 70s, NASA was involved in some ocean-related research, particularly because technologies developed for space could also be applied to deep-sea exploration. This included work on submersibles and remote sensing technologies that could be used in both environments. However, NASA abruptly stopped exploring the ocean in 1970s.

By the late 1970s, more specialized organizations such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the U.S. Navy, and various research institutions like Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography took the lead in exploring and studying the oceans. But they never go as deep as NASA did.

NASA focused on space, and other agencies took over the ocean-related responsibilities, but people say they never explored with the energy as NASA did.
