Forged oak leaf cast iron pot holder simple yet beautiful blacksmithing project demonstration

Hello all and welcome back to Empty Pockets Ironworks!
Man have i been busy over the last couple of weeks, First off we had an amazing show with a huge weekend at the Kansas Star Event center arena, We then had another local show (in our home town) that turned out to be the biggest single show we have ever done! So now I'm playing catch up and to be honest I'm a bit overwhelmed at the moment, Trying to keep enough inventory for our store up town, have fresh and favorites for the shows (we have one this coming weekend, Were in the midst of adding onto our shop on the north end so that in the "hopefully" near future we can expand into CNC plasma, cutting down allot of time on some of our basic cut outs and allowing me to offer our own signature kits for folks that may not have access to a plasma.

Somewhere in all of this we have a pretty lengthy honey do list for stuff to complete in our home including some ironwork, mainly rails and a decorative tree center piece for our upstairs.
To top all of this off it is now mowing season, and although im technical maintenance for the school district I work for I also do the majority of the mowing for our grade school properties, SO after mowing/trimming all day I'm pretty well beat before my feet even step into the shop. Just got to keep pushing, surely all this hard work will pay off someday. I hope.

Todays project was mainly for me to get something out to you all, hopefully you find the project interesting, I have been inadvertently keeping with a them since starting the scarlet Oak leaves, I just really like the look of them in the steel applications, also the Coal Ironworks 12 ton forging press and dies that I have made make the process of texturing materials a total joy to complete.
