Using a Raspberry Pi to connect to open networks safely
Connecting to open wifi networks is dangerous. This Pi connects to any network and routes the traffic to a USB Wifi dongle which acts as an access point for your computer. The open wifi network gets connected to a VPN of your choice........I used ExpressVPN.
This provides you a more secure hotspot to operate from and will save your cellular data if you don't have an unlimited hotspot plan.
