One of very first of the Fender JV Telecasters (April 17, 1982)

Rob talks about the making of Fender guitars in Japan starting in early to mid April 1982 and shows and plays one of the very first butterscotch blonde Telecasters produced in the Fujigen Factory on or about the 17th April 1982. Rob bought it 2nd hand in England in about 1984. It's all original so still has the so called dark circuit on the neck pickup that Leo Fender designed to produce a very bass-like sound for big bands etc. LIsten to the tones the guitar makes directly into a DAW and see some of the features of the guitar when taken apart. The JV-series of guitars were very soon branded as Squier rather than Fender and so were the first guitars in that brand.
This guitar (JV01124) is registered on the excellent JV Chronicles web site (https://www.21frets.com) which has a wealth of information on JV guitars and a busy forum where enthusiasts exhibit and chat about their guitars. This guitar was shown and played at the 1st UK JV guitar show in Bournemouth together with other JV guitars and also some of the Greco and other Japanese Fender-like instruments.
