"Straight" and "Swung" Feel on Drums: What Does It Mean?

“Straight” and “Swung” (or"swing") are two words that get banded around a lot by musicians, but what does it actually mean? Here I talk about the definition of straight and swung in terms of 8th and 16th notes, and give some examples on the snare and in grooves.
