He was on Wednesday speaking at Golf Course Hotel where hundreds of friends, stakeholders, human rights activists and well wishers gathered to celebrate human rights NGO Chapter Four's 10th anniversary. The event also coincided with this year 2023's two day Human Rights Convention which the Nicholas Opiyo-founded Chapter Four organizes annually to reflect on the human rights situation in the country.
Led by Chapter Four Chairperson Prof Zahara Nampewo, the event organizers cleverly used the Convention to put specific reference on the paradox presented in Uganda being home to millions of refugees running away from human rights violations and political persecution in their country yet back home in Kampala and other cities, the same Museveni regime is accused of torture and other blatant human rights violations targeting its opponents.
