Oberheim OB-X8 - is raw purity enough?

Oberheim has released a new synth with the helping hand of Sequential. It's a purist analog approach to the legacy of Oberheim. But is that enough in this day and age? Now that we're so used to advanced modulation matrixes and digital effects, and many synthesis methods on board etc? I think this appeals to a certain purist demographic. And for them it'll surely sound very much like that certain legendary sound that you might remember from a lot of productions. But for me, this is not a nostalgic experience at all. My personal nostalgia lies elsewhere. So I'm immune to any form of nostalgic reaction this might conjure. I'm experiencing this from the start. And even if I appreciate the pure balanced tone, I personally think it's a little bare minimum when it comes to functionality. How do you feel about it? Is this "just right" for you?
