The Elephant Sanctuary | Elecam Encounter: Deer Guests Come to Dinner
8/6/2012 @1:00pm on the Q-Barn camera
The 2700 acre Sanctuary habitat is home not only to the Elephants, but also to a variety of Middle Tennessee wildlife. A lone deer comes to dine with Minnie, Debbie and Ronnie. The deer often enjoy the left-over tidbits from the Girls' meals. Minnie, Debbie and Ronnie were much more interested in dusting themselves and even rolling around in the depression they made in the dusting area. On this day, they hardly acknowledged their guest's presence until Debbie decided they should not be offered a second helping. Much of the nice dusting she had, came off as she ran toward the "Guests". Elephants will almost always dust after being in the pond or showering themselves with water. This creates a nice sunscreen for them as well as discourages insects from biting.
Tune into the Elecam daily for updates on all of the Girls and their activities! http://www.elephants.com/elecam/
