Divas & Drummers of Compton “Peaceful Youth Rally & Protest in Los Angeles

The Divas & Drummers of Compton are a program of 1 Shine Youth. In the summer of 2020, these youth collaborated woth youth leaders from the following organization: Crenshaw YMCA, Peaceful Youth Protest, and Children Striving Together to organize a peaceful youth protest.

Together these youth expressed their feeling and sentiments about the current state of local and national issues directly targeting and affecting Black and Brown individuals.

This was a peaceful rally and allowed the youth a safe space to express how they were feeling to their peers and community at large.
