Who invented pop-punk? IMO it's Descendents on their 1985 album "I Don't Want To Grow Up." Some of what I talk about:

* Other early poppier punk bands like Buzzcocks, The Ramones, and Generation X or college rock bands like Husker Du and The Replacements and Dag Nasty's melodic hardcore
* Their roots in the early LA punk scene, Bill Stevenson's time in Black Flag, SST records, and how they compare to other LA bands like Suicidal Tendencies
* How they introduced punk to love songs like "Silly Girl," "Good Good Things" and "Marriage"
* Their 1981 "Fat" EP and how Milo Aukerman's departure lead to "Milo Goes To College"
* How they influenced bands like Blink-182 via Mark Hoppus, A Day To Remember, Real Friends, The Story So Far, Knuckle Puck and even newer emo rappers like Lil Aaron, Lil Tracy or DC The Don
