Tobias Steymans began playing the violin at the age of six, and by the time he was twelve, he was already a preparatory student at the Music Academy in Cologne.

He has been invited to several festivals, such as the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, the Schwetzingen Festival and others. He has collaborated with musicians from a number of differed ensembles, such as the Juilliard String Quartet, the Vermeer String Quartet, the Cleveland String Quartet and the Emerson String Quartet.

Violinist has also taken part in a number of television presentations and performed as a soloist on the stages of many prestigious concert halls, such as Kölner Philharmonie, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Beethovenhalle Bonn and many more. Tobias Steymans was appointed principal concertmaster of the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks in 2009.

Student of the masterclass – Emīlija Bukša /NMV EDMV, O. Isakova class/

Emīlija Bukša was born in 2003 in Riga and has been playing violin since the age of five. Currently she attends Emils Darzins Secondary Music School in the class of Olga Isakova.

Emilija is a laureate of numerous awards at many international competitions, from which most notable are:
• 2nd and 3rd place at “A.Grumiaux competition for young violinists”;
• 1st place at the “National competition for string instruments”;
• 1st place at “A. Dombrovskis International competition for young violinists, violists and cellists”;
• 2nd place at “Marine Iashvili International Competition for String Instruments”;
• a laureate diploma at “International Saulius Sondeckis competition”.

She has also played as a soloist with Latvian National Symphony orchestra and other orchestras.

Emilija has also been a permanent member of the Emils Darzins Music School orchestra since 2017 and has taken part in the “Youth centenary orchestra” and other projects, as well as plays in a piano quartet.
