Of course I fell for these two. After watching the first season I doubted that another character could compare Contessina, but Clarice stole my heart. I put a lot of her development here cause I truly liked her more and more within each episode.
The second season was so good, go see it if you haven't!
Also I want to clarify my opinion here since there are a lot of people who prefer Lucrezia and Lorenzo and considering history accuracy of course that couple makes sense and I would probably choose them over Lorenzo and Clarice, but as in any series drama and love are needed so they had to choose to make Lorenzo and Clarice's story work as it is the one which actually lasts.
So it is simply anylising the show as the couples were presented,
without taking count of accuracy, that they became my favorites regardless of what kind of affection bounded these two characters in reality.
What was showed to me is an immediate attraction which developed into a genuine, passionate, true and strong relationship and that is what my preference is about.
