Rural schools advocate: Hochul’s budget, school bus mandate a 'financial folly’

While Gov. Kathy Hochul is touting the highest level of state school aid in history in her FY2027 executive budget proposal, rural education advocates warn the plan could force upstate districts to slash programs and lay off staff.
