Despite the impact on global property markets this year due to the pandemic, Portugal continues to be popular among investors from all around the globe, and for a good reason.
Why?
Portugal’s Golden Visa program is one of the most popular residence by investment programs in Europe and across the world. Since its commencement in October 2012, almost ten thousand families have received their Golden Visas. Through this, non-European citizens and their families are able to obtain residency visas from their investment in prime Portuguese real estate.
However, the Portuguese government will be implementing new changes to the program in the coming months which will make it impossible for foreigners to invest in Lisbon properties under the Golden Visa program.
