This video shows Multiple findings including Gallbladder Stone, Large hepatic Mass, Vesical Growth, and Prostatic hypertrophy.
Most people with cholelithiasis have no symptoms at all. A minority of patients with gallstones develop symptoms: severe abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, and complete blockage of the bile ducts that may pose the risk of infection. Cholelithiasis can lead to cholecystitis, inflammation of the gallbladder.
Causes of gallstones. Gallstones may form if bile contains too much cholesterol, too much bilirubin, or not enough bile salts. Researchers do not fully understand why these changes in bile occur. Gallstones also may form if the gallbladder does not empty completely or often enough.
If your gallstones aren't causing symptoms, there's no need for you to have surgery. You'll only need it if a stone goes into, or blocks, one of your bile ducts.
Hepatic tumors are a diverse group of masses that include malignant and benign subtypes. Their presentation may vary from localizing signs/symptoms, such as jaundice and right upper quadrant pain, to vague signs/symptoms, such as fatigue, weight loss, and anorexia. Many hepatic tumors are discovered incidentally on medical imaging studies. Moreover, the liver is a common site for metastasis, and metastases to the liver are significantly more common than primary liver tumors.
The incidence of primary liver cancer is steadily increasing worldwide.
Most benign liver tumors do not cause symptoms and are found incidentally on abdominal imaging studies such as an ultrasound, CT scan, or MRI. It is important that benign tumors are not misdiagnosed. Your doctor may choose to follow the tumor with imaging studies to ensure that it has been diagnosed correctly.
Globally, liver cancer is the third leading cause of cancer death after cancers of the lung and the stomach. The highest incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is in China, representing about 50% of HCC cases worldwide, with most of the cases associated with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Cholangiocarcinoma also has a disproportionate geographical distribution, with Thailand having the highest global rates due to the presence of liver flukes.
An ultrasound scan is used to show if a Growth is present and how large it is. Ultrasound can't always find small tumors, so additional tests may be required. Ultrasound scans with a full bladder are mandatory to see all findings.
Tumors can be either benign or cancerous. Bladder cancer or bladder tumors are relatively common, and most bladder tumors are cancerous.
One of the basic abdominal organs that are assessed during transabdominal ultrasound examination is the urinary bladder. The bladder must be filled with urine. This is a prerequisite for a reliable assessment and, at the same time, an acoustic window in examining adjacent structures and organs, for instance, the prostate gland and female genital organs. Sonography enables the detection of 95% of exophytic lesions within the urinary bladder with a diameter exceeding 5 mm. Mostly, it is carcinoma of the urinary bladder. Due to its malignant character and the need for aggressive surgical treatment, a correct diagnosis of this disease is essential for patients. As the lack of adequate treatment and delayed treatment considerably affect the prognosis.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or benign prostatic enlargement (BPE) is an extremely common condition in elderly men and is a major cause of bladder outflow obstruction.
The most common presentation is with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) including
poor stream despite straining
Hesitancy, frequency, and incomplete emptying of the bladder
Nocturia
There is an increase in the volume of the prostate with a calculated volume exceeding 30 mL (width x height x length x 0.52), But according to some experts, The normal prostate gland has measures 3 × 3 × 5 cm approximately or a volume of 25 ml.
The central gland is enlarged and is hypoechoic or of mixed echogenicity.
Calcification may be seen both within the enlarged gland as well as in the pseudocapsule.
Post-micturition residual volume is typically elevated.
Associated bladder wall hypertrophy and trabeculation due to chronically elevated filling pressures.
Risk factors of BPH
Increasing age
Family history
Race: blacks more than whites more than Asians
Cardiovascular disease
Use of beta-blockers
Metabolic syndrome: diabetes, hypertension, obesity
Ultrasound has become the standard first-line investigation after the urologist's finger.
