Looking at the Antelope Zen Go

Was the Antelope Zen Go a better choice than an Apollo Arrow? Here I look at the Zen Go and why I dropped Apollo. What I use in recording in my home studio.

The Antelope Zen Go has two combination XLR and 1/4 inch inputs, a S/DPIF input - which is why I wound up with it as I run my Kemper Profiler into it that way - two 1/4" jacks and two RCA jacks for monitor out as well as two headphone outs.

The mic pres built-in are world-class and have the option of mic emulation, vintage mic pre emulation, vintage eq emulation and vintage compressor emulation, as well as an excellent reverb. These can be used to record top-notch audio into your DAW. The Zen Go uses USB 3 which is unfortunate as the DAW2DAW plugin that came with the bundled software doesn't work on USB, only on Thunderbolt.

Instruments used on the demo song were; Godin Mahogany Montreal, Gretsch Electromatic short-scale bass, Yamaha Drums, Kemper Profiler, ART T-4 Tube Mic.
