Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds gather to fill up before traveling south from middle TN to Central America in early September.
You may notice that you aren't seeing too many red throats. That is because these are either young and still developing their gorget feathers or female birds, the male gets his own feeder although he shows up every now and then to stir things up a bit.
