TOB Doc: A Conversation with Jimmy Capps

The Town of Benson is proud to present “A Conversation with Jimmy Capps” — our one-hour documentary on the life and times of one of Nashville’s most renowned session guitarists.

While growing up in Benson, North Carolina, Jimmy quickly picked up a taste and talent for country music. It wouldn’t be long before he was playing guitar for the musicians he loved to listen to on the radio.

In this documentary, Jimmy details his beginnings, leaving Benson for South Carolina and life in the music business, his Grand Ole Opry experiences, recording session stories, and more. Also accompanied by Charlie Albertson and Clyde Mattocks — musical peers and accomplished musicians in their own right — the three weave a tale about life in country music throughout the late 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s.
