1990 Land Rover Defender Perentie 6x6

Today, Dan Barry is taking you around a 1990 Land Rover Defender Perentie 6x6. This truck is powered by a Japanese Isuzu 3.9-liter diesel engine.

Vehicle Overview:

With a new version of the Land Rover Defender just launched, the
appreciation and admiration for the original has increased greatly.
The utilitarian platform of the Land Rover Defender has seen the
humble chassis take many different forms. It lends itself to the
customization scene, and the vehicle pictured here is a prime example
of what can be done with enough imagination and resources. This 6-wheel Defender 110 features a fully-enclosed workspace in the
rear, fashioned after military-issue vehicles. It also features
cooking facilities, as well as plenty of storage for outback
adventures.

Exterior/Interior

With a large rear enclosure, this 6-wheeled Land Rover will never be
mistaken for a regular Defender. It features two rear-mounted spare
wheels on a custom carrier, as well as modern lighting courtesy of J.W
Speaker. The front and rear are protected by customized bumpers, with
a Warn winch attached for good measure. This Land Rover Defender 110's exterior is newly-repainted, finished
in Nardo Grey. It sits on new MaxXtrac Blindo wheels wrapped in new BF
Goodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires. Inside the rear of the Defender, there appears to be enough space for
a bed, while the camping theme extends to multiple worktops as well as
plug points to power various electrical devices.

Engine:

To maximize both power and reliability, this Land Rover Defender's
engine is a Japanese Isuzu 3.9-liter diesel engine. The Isuzu engine,
known as the 4BD1T, is commonly found in Land Rover Defenders, having
been used by the Australian military, before also being offered for
use in civilian applications in both Australia and New Zealand.
