For Your Eyes Only (At The Oscar's Ceremony 1982) - Sheena Easton

James Bond 007 at the 1982 Academy Awards

The 54th Academy Awards were broadcast on March 29, 1982 and hosted by Johnny Carson. Sheena Easton was among the performers, belting out "For Your Eyes Only" from the film of the same name, which was nominated for Best Original Song.

Ultimately the song would lose to "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" from the movie, Arthur, but the performance is a rather... unusual ... dance number which would not have looked out of place in the Star Wars Holiday Special. Bizarrely camp, with a dancing James Bond (thankfully Roger Moore did not take part), a very uncomfortable looking Richard Kiel as Jaws, and what was probably the last ever appearance of Harold Sakata as Oddjob, managing to look both menacing and rather old and frail at the same time (Sakata would die from Cancer four months later on July 29th, 1982 at the age of 62.).
It really must be seen to be believed..!
