HP ENVY 17t Review (2020) Built Too Good for $849!

HP's 17" ENVY at its current price is a great device for the right person or family. Does it suit you? You're about to find out.

This is tied to me and helps grow the channel financially with a small kickback from HP as well as lets them know if i'm worth their time as a reviewer. Integrity is key so if you don't like the laptop, returning it means I didn't do a good job for you and there's ZERO compensation which is how it should be.

For you benchmarkers out there, the CPU was good fr 1100 in CB20. I've always had a soft spot for efficiency so I like this intel 10nm processor.
Temps rarely hit 70c on the CPU and that was typically only after unlocking the GPU thermals. At that point the GPU would hit 80c at the max. Ambient temp of 74F.

XTU will not load with this CPU as it's currently not compatible and ThrottleStop modifications to the wattage and voltage do not comply.

To the touch that laptop as a whole was way cooler than anything else I've used in recent memory.

Bottom panel removal requires the rubber feet removed to reveal phillips head screws as well as two exposed T5 screws near the from. It's easy and I didn't come close to damaging the rubber feet strips. I suppose I could offer a video showing how to do this as one doesn't seem to exist but it's actually really easy to do so i'm not sure if this is a waste of time. The cooler is large for the hardware and has two fans. It's overkill to be honest but I like it this way.

I really enjoyed using this laptop. it was easy to use, very quiet, built too good for its price and the display was pretty. There's a lot to like on the base model shown in this video and I hope you like it!
