House of Nemanjic

The Nemanjic dynasty represented, in many ways, the zenith of Serbian power in the Middle Ages reigning from the 12th to 14th centuries and producing eleven Serbian monarchs. Originally styled as Grand Princes of Rascia, under Stefan I they were elevated to Kings and finally in 1346 they were raised to the status of "Emperor of All Serbs, Albanians, Greeks and Bulgars". Because of their accomplishments, the height of power reached during their reign and their long and stable rule the Nemanjic dynasty remains widely respected by the Serbian people today.
