Vintage Zenith Console Stereo Record Player/Turntable Auto Reject Problems
This video describes the most common problem on Zenith (VM Built) changers/record players/turntables. The centrifugal lever or trip pawl sticks (usually in the trip mode) causing it to continuously auto reject or not work at all. The lever is mounted on top of the toothed wheel that moves the sliding mechanism. This is on a 1959 Zenith Cobramatic changer but same mechanical principal, (it will look different on newer models) on all VM built Zenith changers throughout the 1960's until the early 70's. Spray WD-40 all over from top and bottom where it's riveted to the wheel and work it back n' forth, you'll know it's freed up when the tension spring near the lever pushes the lever back in it's resting place. You may have to manually move the platter or toothed wheel to gain access to it.
