Matt Waugh is a Churchill Fellow, Kings20 Founder & NHS Clinical Entrepreneur. He has also founded Live More to improve gyms in mental health units. The team have won 9 awards since 2018.

He trained as a mental health nurse & fitness instructor, working on an intensive care unit (PICU), whilst founding Live More.

Live More Gyms CIC won places on The King's20 Accelerator & NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programmes. They set up gyms and train staff to use them.

Hospital gyms are spaces to train, talk, meditate, reduce anxiety, improve nutrition, social connection & sleep.

Improving the gym on Nile PICU was a change idea in an award winning violence reduction quality improvement project. Violence reduced by 51 %. Weight gain reduced by 46 %.

The quality improvement was published by The British Journal of Psychiatry & World Health Organisation.

Nile PICU won the CNWL Quality Improvement Award 2022.

Nile PICU won CNWL Safety Awards in 2021 & 2020.

Rebecca Byrne, resident artist at The Van Gogh Gallery, installed museum quality art into the PICU gyms.

Sophy Robson, UK Graffiti artist designed an open ward hospital gym with patients.

Matt was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to Australia in 2022.

Prior to Live More, he was part of the team setting up The Hive, adolescent mental health service in Camden.
