Insta360 Luna Ultra Finally Confirmed – Should We Wait?

The Insta360 Luna Ultra has leaked once again, and this time it’s becoming a serious rival to the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Pro. But what may attract most creators isn’t just the camera performance — it’s the overall design approach.

Unlike DJI’s traditional fixed-screen setup, the Luna Ultra is rumored to feature a detachable display that can also function as a wireless remote. That could give creators far more freedom for vlogging, self-shooting, and capturing difficult angles. Instead of simply making a more powerful camera, Insta360 seems focused on creating something more flexible and practical for everyday use.

According to leaks shared by Igor Bogdanov, the Luna Ultra may support 8K video recording and up to 240fps slow motion. Combined with a rumored 12x hybrid zoom, the camera appears designed to compete directly with DJI’s cinematic shooting features.

Another major factor could be availability. Reports suggest the Pocket 4 Pro may face distribution and support challenges in North America due to FCC-related restrictions. Meanwhile, the Leica-powered Luna Ultra could become the more accessible option for creators in the US market.

Now the big question is simple: can Insta360 finally challenge DJI at the top of the handheld camera market?
