when Gordon first arrived on the Island of Sodor (back when the North Western Railway was being built by Sir Topham Hatt I) he decided that HE was going to pull the most important passenger train on the island by doing this he purchased big coaches for him and called this train (the Wild Nor Western) Gordon now proudly flies down the line making sure the passengers arrive safely from Knapford all the way to Vicarstown (the mainland).
