In this video I show you how to assemble the New Kreepy Krauly by Pentair and the proper installation procedure. The video is long but the first 8 minutes covers the assembly and installation. The last part of the video is Troubleshooting and Tips. So actually you can have this New Kreepy assembled and installed in your pool in less than 10 minutes.

The installation process of the New Kreepy Krauly is fairly easy once you assemble the cleaner. I show you how to measure the proper hose length for your pool and also were to place the weights. Here is another look at the Weight placement:

If your pool is 4 ft. deep or less: One Weight at 4 inches to 12 inches from the cleaner's Swivel Head.
If your pool is 4 ft. to 6 ft. deep: One Weight 4" to 12" and another 6 ft. back.
If your pool is 7 ft. to 12 ft. deep: One Weight 4" to 12", one at 6 ft. and another at 10 ft.
If your pool is 12 ft. or deeper: One Weight 4" to 12", one at 6 ft., one at 10 ft. and one at 12 ft.

The cleaner only comes with 2 Weights so you will need to purchase more Weights if needed:

I suggest that if you purchase your cleaner at a pool store that you have the employee assemble the cleaner for you. I had a little trouble getting the wings over the blue clip but found using a large screwdriver to push it in the clip solved the problem pretty quickly. The Seal and bumper strap were very easy to get on.

I really like the new designed Dive Float. This is the part that determines how high the Kreepy Krauly will climb in your pool. If you have the Kreepy Krauly Classic you know that it can climb all the way out of the pool in some cases. But with the new cleaner you can simple set the tabs s othe Dive Float is further from the body of the cleaner which will keep it lower in the pool. Very nice.

The last four minutes of the video covers common problems you will run into, I already mentioned the Dive Float above. But I also cover adjusting the return jets if the pool return is pushing the cleaner away from an area in your pool. Most newer pools have eyeball fittings that you can simply turn -- I prefer turning them down to the pool bottom which seems to solve any problems. You can also by inserts if you have stub pipes (return lines with no fittings and that are not threaded):

I'm not sure why the cleaner doesn't come with the K121110 2" Hose Cone but you will need that if you have a non-threaded skimmer. I also cover a one hole skimmer with a Valve diverter in it. You will need the Hose Cone for that skimmer type also.

I strongly recommend you purchase a leaf canister for your cleaner. I really like the one made by Pentair as it has an easy snap open top and a very goof fine mesh bag. Here are two models made by Pentair:

I also cover a few things that might keep the cleaner from moving once installed. What I didn't mention is that you pump needs to pull 25 gallons of water per minute for the Kreepy to work effectively. That usually is not an issue nowadays as most pool pumps are very powerful.

Make sure your filter is clean and the pump basket doesn't have any debris clogging it up. I also touch on a Suction Leak or Vacuum Leak which is when air is getting into your system. I point out the most likely areas in the video. I have troubleshooting videos on my Channel that can help you solve and fix that issue. Remember, if you have a Suction leak the cleaner will not work.

Last I touch on variable speed pumps and setting the RPM's. For a side port connectin 2400-2600 RPMs should get it working. If you are using the skimmer connection 2600-3000 RPMs will do the trick.
