After proceeding with the crusade mode, I realised that attacking a fort would move the camp forward. It left my party stranded without a safe resting spot. It is also strange that Kenebres, which was supposedly taken over, was not accessible. Next time, I would have to ensure to balance the forward march of the crusade with the main party's quests.
