ICYMI: 'Freak Weather Event' As Tornado Hit Australian City

Bunbury locals have spent the weekend cleaning up destruction caused by a tornado that swept through the Western Australian town on Friday afternoon.

At least seven homes have been classified as uninhabitable after the 60-metre-wide tornado tore through the town, damaging around 100 other buildings in just four minutes.

Two people are suffering minor injuries as a result of the freak weather event. No deaths have been reported.

Premier Roger Cook has announced a payment up to $4,000 will be made available for those whose homes have been damaged.
