Most MYSTERIOUS Discoveries Of Giants!
The issue of giants has always been an interesting one. Did they really exist or stories about them are best relegated to the mythology category?
The answer to that question depends on who you ask. Some strongly believe bigger versions of us once roamed the earth while others refute it. But that’s not the point of our video.
Ours is a focus on some of the places where discoveries of giants have been reported over the years. Let’s take a look.
#10 The Ozarks
Missouri has had a few tales of giants all of which tend to end up nowhere. One popular one was about a landowner who had built a house about 40 miles from the Lake of the Ozarks in 1934. While the house was great, J. D. Crain – the landowner – found the nearby oak trees to be an obstruction. So he decided to cut them down and level the mounds on which the trees grew.
In doing so, he stumbled on an interesting discovery – a group of seven skeletons had been buried under the mounds. And even more astonishing was that one of the skeletons was about 8 feet, as the story goes. That’s a significantly big size compared to the height of an average adult human being.
Without much thought, Crain together with a few other people put the skeletons in a box and buried them under his front porch – which supposedly remains unknown to this day. The only reason that the story lives on up to today is that it was covered by a newspaper called the Springfield Daily News.
Tracing Crain’s piece of land has proven difficult over the years since a lot has happened. That means the house and hence the front porch can’t be found too. So we’ll never know the site of the 8-foot skeleton.
#9 West Hickory, Pennsylvania
Of all the reported discoveries in this video, this one, in particular, is the most astonishing. Just so you know – most of the skeletons in this video average 9ft at most, which is pretty short compared to the giant remains reported to have been found in West Hickory.
According to The Oil City Times newspaper in 1870, a major discovery had been covered that featured not just gigantic bones but also equally larger-than-life items.
The rare stash, the report further alleges, included a huge iron helmet and a 9-feet sword. Clearly, these were way too large to be of any use to a person of average size. Some further digging revealed the likely size of the owner of these items.
As per estimates, whoever used to swing that sword might have been a staggering 18-foot tall, more than thrice the average height of an adult human being. That’s massive.
The whereabouts of these finds have never been heard of, though. The same report from The Oil City Times, the skeletons were to be sent to New York but it’s not clear what happened more than 100 years later.
#8 Ecuador
The reported skeleton finds in Ecuador are the most intriguing owing to the rather astronomical height estimate. Actually, it’s the tallest in this video, with a height of just over 25 feet! That’s one hell of a size, way larger than the West Hickory skeleton findings.
As the report goes, the remains were first discovered by locals in 1964 who called in a priest – Father Carlos Vaca, a hospital worker at the time.
The priest took with him some of the bones to his home where they remained until his death.
From the priest, the bones moved over to Austrian artifact researcher Klaus Dona who initially brought up the possibility of the skeleton belonging to a 25ft tall person. Unfortunately, though, he couldn’t get much information from the bones to prove anything.
His attempt to obtain DNA material from the bones hit a dead end as not a single strand could be found. But according to the researcher, there is still a good reason to believe the skeleton belonged to giants. Apparently, the site where the bones were dug translates to “cemetery of the giants” in the local language.
#7 Lake Delavan Skeletons
The Wisconsin state has had quite a few reports about remains of giants dating from as far back as the 1890s.
In 1891, The New York Times ran a story about giant remains that had been discovered in the ancient city of Aztalan. According to the report, the find was made by the Smithsonian Institute scientists who had been looking into burial mounds around the area.
Another report about giant remains was published 6 years later by The Times. This time around, a single huge skeleton was found in Maple Creek and would have stood at roughly 9 feet tall.
The third and final find was the biggest. As reported again by the New York Times on May 14, 1912, at least 18 giant skeletons had been discovered at Lake Delavan. But these were a bit different in the sense that they didn’t really fit with what you’d expect a human skeleton to look like.
For starters, the nose seemed a bit higher than the cheekbones. That’s contrary to human beings who have cheekbones and nose being almost level. Additionally, the bone above the eye socket had a sloping angle that isn’t typical in humans.
