Coimbatore 10-Year-Old's Murder Sparks Protests; Two Arrested As State CM Assures Strict Action

A ten-year-old girl was abducted, raped, and murdered in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, sparking protests in the region. The minor went missing while playing near her residence, and her body was later discovered near a water body. The incident led to unrest, with locals blocking the highway to demand immediate justice. Following an investigation involving surveillance footage, police arrested two accused, including a neighbour of the victim. One of the accused sustained injuries to his arm and leg while attempting to escape from police custody and is currently receiving medical treatment. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister spoke with the family to express condolences and announced a compensation of seventy lakh rupees. The state government has assured the family that the strictest possible punishment will be given to the culprits. Authorities continue to investigate the case as the public demands accountability for the crime.
