2009 saw the centenary of the Marshall Group of Companies, as well as the 80th anniversary of Marshalls association with aviation, and detailed planning ensured that this landmark was recognised and celebrated in an appropriate way.

Whilst these celebrations highlighted the many achievements and successes of Marshall during the 100 years since it was founded by David Marshall, it was intended that the primary focus to be on the strength and diversity of the Group today and how the established reputation was opening opportunities for the company's employees and customers, local communities and industry in the 21st century.

The centenary was marked throughout the year by each of the operating companies when Marshall's history and current operational success would be celebrated. Events included:
Sunday 20 September Company Employees Family and Friends Open Day
The Group opened its gates to all employees and their close family and friends for a private viewing of Marshall of Cambridge and culminated with a private flying display of some of the greatest flying machines of the 20th century.
