"Solid Wood" Front Door Repurposed--into a Cutting Board {BARELY}

This may not be my biggest and best project ever, but it was really interesting nonetheless.

Maybe because this is when I learned that "solid wood doors" are a bit misleading in the whole "solid wood" thing.

Check out how I was able to salvage some of this old front door from my parents' house and make them something that they can keep with them--even after the front door has been replaced.

I was surprised (although, now I really don't know why I was so shocked) to find that this solid mahogany door was really just a bunch of little pieces glued together and covered in a veneer.

What I expected to be a quick and simple "cut, glue, done" project because quite a bit more involved when I realized I was going to have to make do with much smaller pieces than I had intended.
